Jets would gain from a draft day trade involving Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh.

With a significant deal for the 2024 NFL Draft, general manager Joe Douglas of the New York Jets could pull off another spectacular offseason move.

Prior to this year’s draft, Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report shared a few possible trade scenarios involving the Jets. The Jets made a few trades in order to increase their draft capital, but the most intriguing one had them passing the Chicago Bears in order to obtain the eighth overall pick.

Tansey added, “The Atlanta Falcons could be the right team to negotiate with because they have an abundance of offensive weapons.” In order to advance two slots in the top 10, the Jets would need to pay a respectable price. The price might force them to stay at number ten, but if they can add Rome Odunze, Malik Nabers, or another elite wide receiver, it might be worthwhile to consider a trade involving two or three picks.

Tansey detailed every aspect of a proposed trade that would have moved the Jets up two slots.

Jets are selected eighth overall.

The 10th and [72nd] overall picks are given to the Falcons.

Many Draft Prospects Connected to the Jets

Rumors and top-30 visits have connected the Jets to a number of fascinating talents as they prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

If Malik Nabers is still available after the first few picks, the Jets would be justified in their pursuit of him. Given that the franchise has already planned a top-30 meeting with the LSU prospect, the Jets may make a trade akin to the one Tansey suggested.

The Jets have also arranged for Rome Odunze, another top wideout prospect, to visit them in the top 30. Although Joe Douglas is probably holding out for options depending on how the selection goes, pairing Nabers or Odunze with Garrett Wilson would be an intriguing weapon.

The Jets are researching developing quarterbacks in addition to receivers. The Jets are meeting with former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis while they conduct research on the top quarterback who is sidelined for the whole season due to a leg injury.

The Jets won’t likely select a quarterback first overall. To watch a player like Travis grow and learn under a future Hall of Famer like Aaron Rodgers, though, would be a sensible decision.

Newest Mock Drafts for the Jets

The Jets are busy scheduling pre-draft visits with quarterbacks and receivers, but some of the most recent mock drafts that have surfaced online suggest that the team is taking a different approach.

In recent mock drafts, Brock Bowers has gained popularity as a draft choice for the Jest. In his most recent mock draft, NFL.com’s Eric Edholm and Bleacher Report predicted that the Jets will select the All-American tight end.

Odunze was signed by the Jets, according to Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports, which would make sense considering the team’s need for a wide receiver and their meeting with the Washington prospect.

Pro Football Network’s Keff Ciardello had the Jets taking a different route. They had Olu Fahsanu, a quality offensive lineman prospect out of Penn State, selected by the Jets in instead of Bowers.

When the 2024 NFL Draft eventually happens, Jets supporters will know more about what the team will do with the 10th overall choice than they will from mock drafts.
