Lewis Hamilton has discussed his impending transfer to Ferrari candidly.

Lewis Hamilton said that switching from Mercedes to Ferrari in the near future is a “daunting” idea. After spending the last 11 years at the Silver Arrows, many believed that Hamilton and Mercedes would remain friends until he left Formula One completely.

Although Hamilton, 39, has won six of his seven World Championship championships with the Brackley-based constructor, he is eager to go on to other adventures.

The Hertfordshire native, nevertheless, has acknowledged having some anxiety before joining Ferrari, saying that the transition will be “massively different” from his time at Mercedes.

“It’s going to be new,” Hamilton said to Martin Brundle in an interview with Sky Sports prior to the British Grand Prix last week. It’s intimidating since it will be difficult and fresh ground for you to explore. You know, though, I adore difficulties. “I anticipate a significant difference.

Well, both of the teams I’ve played for are British teams. I will thus be immersed in an entirely new culture in Italy. “If you think about us Brits, we’re very quiet and more calm when you have success, and everyone’s kind of more chilled out when you have difficult days, whereas Italians are much more emotional,” he continued.

It has a very distinct culture. Although I have raced in Italy, I have no idea what to really anticipate, but I anticipate it being quite different yet amazing and distinct in certain respects.

Hamilton appears to be making the move at an odd moment, as he is just starting to regain his form after going through a dry period after the disastrous 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

After 945 days, Hamilton’s victory at Silverstone last weekend marked the first time he has finished first on the podium since December 2021. As Mercedes got ready to live without the iconic driver, there were worries that the team might treat the leaving Hamilton badly.
