In a complaint, Dak Prescott claims that a lady and her attorneys are involved in a “extortion plot.”

NFL quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has filed a $1 million lawsuit against a lady and her attorneys, claiming they are involved in a $100 million “extortion plot” aimed at extorting him by making false charges of sexual assault.

Prescott filed the complaint in Collin County, Texas, on March 11, 2024; the lawsuit is available for reading in full here. As per the legal representatives of Prescott, Victoria Baileigh Shores and her solicitors, Yoel and Bethel Zehaie, “have demanded that Mr Prescott immediately pay $100 million in exchange for her not pressing false charges with the authorities and threatened to go public with a completely fabricated story of sexual assault from nearly a decade ago.”

In an email to Heavy, Prescott’s lawyer, Levi McCathern of McCathern Shokouhi Evans, stated, “Mr. Prescott, a new father to a baby girl, has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault.” He firmly feels that those who commit these kinds of crimes ought to face the harshest penalties available. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never had sex with someone without their will. Lies cause pain. in particular, dishonest lies. We refuse to let the defendant and her attorneys make money off of this attempt to demand millions of dollars from Mr. Prescott.

In November 2023, Sarah Jane Ramos, Prescott’s girlfriend, disclosed her pregnancy.

Attorney Bethel Zehaie for Shores informed NBC DFW that her client is accusing Prescott of sexually abusing her outside of Dallas’ XTC Cabaret in 2017, following Prescott’s rookie season. Zehaie continued by saying that Shores, a 28-year-old resident of Fort Worth, wasn’t employed at the club and hadn’t reported anything to the police at the time she claims the incident happened. Shores’ solicitors declared in a statement that they support her charges.

The lawsuit contains an email that the accuser’s attorneys sent to Dak Prescott in January 2024.

The email, which Prescott’s lawyers refer to as a “extortionary letter,” was written to the Cowboys quarterback on January 16, 2024, and contained allegations that he had sexually assaulted Shores on February 2, 2017. This information was included in the case. Prescott played college football at Mississippi State University, where the email was “bizarrely” forwarded to a third party, according to Prescott’s attorneys.

According to the email, Shores and Prescott first connected on Snapchat after she was hired, and then he invited her to “hang out.”

The email claims that Prescott met Shores and her female companions in Plano, along with two other members of his “entourage.” According to the email, Shores was seated in the farthest back row of Prescott’s SUV while she was with him and the other two members of his entourage. The email claims that Shores is accusing Prescott of showing Prescott his penis.

“Ms. Shores made sure to express her desires verbally and did not want to have sex. The vehicle then stopped at your destination. Everyone left the car except for you after this happened, and you also gestured for one of your entourage members to get out of the way so that you and Ms. Shores could be alone,” Shores’ lawyers wrote. “At this point, you assaulted Ms. Shores sexually and with physical force.”

“Ms. Shores has had to live with this pain and trauma for seven years,” the email continued. She needed therapy and counselling, and she will continue to need therapy and counselling because it had such a significant impact on her relationship with her fiancé and her day-to-day life. She has endured unspeakable mental suffering as a result of the trauma of becoming a victim of sexual assault.

In the email, the attorneys stated, “She is willing to forgo pursuing criminal charges and disclosing this information to the public in exchange for compensation for the mental anguish she has suffered, despite the tragic events.” The amount of money awarded for Ms. Shores’s damages is $100,000,000. You will have until February 16, 2024, to reply to this letter of demand.

In their lawsuit, Prescott’s attorneys stated that the “extortion” email was sent before NFL free agency began.

“Sexual assault is a despicable crime that no person should ever endure,” the lawsuit filed by Prescott states. Mr. Prescott, a recent father to his daughter, feels deeply for victims of sexual assault and is adamant that those who commit these crimes should face the worst penalties possible. Having said that, Mr. Prescott has never had a sexual relationship with someone without their will. In fact, the heroism of real sexual assault survivors worldwide as well as the validity of the terrible traumas they have experienced are undermined by the defendants’ bogus assertions in this respect.

Additionally, Prescott “has established himself as a solid role model and pillar of the community,” according to the lawsuit. In the case, his attorneys wrote:

Now, at the height of Mr. Prescott’s success, Defendants and her legal team have unleashed a campaign of extortion and defamation, threatening to go public with a completely fabricated story of sexual assault from nearly a decade ago and demanding that Mr. Prescott immediately pay $100,000,000, in exchange for her silence. Defendants’ horrible lies not only threaten to destroy the legitimate legacy of a great man and cost him tens of millions of dollars, but Defendants’ conduct is criminal.

As such, Mr. Prescott has reported Defendants’ criminal actions to the appropriate authorities and will continue to cooperate fully in their investigation. Further, Mr. Prescott is forced to file the instant case to bring the truth to light, defend his new family, and promote our society’s collective progress in support of legitimate survivors of sexual assault.

The claims of assault happened on or around February 2, 2017,” his attorneys continued, “after the conclusion of Mr Prescott’s rookie season in the NFL as the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.” Mr. Prescott was unmarried at the time of the alleged attack, and Defendant Shores’s activities in the seven years that have passed after the claimed assault are consistent with him exclusively engaging in consensual interactions with Mr. Prescott. The defendants’ motivation is made clear by the fact that Mr. Prescott did not hear a single unfavourable comment regarding this alleged encounter that occurred almost ten years ago.

Shores and her lawyers are accused in the case of tortious interference with present and/or future business contacts, defamation and slander, defamation per se, civil extortion/duress, business disparagement, civil conspiracy, and purposeful infliction of emotional distress.

Defendants sought to tamper with and disrupt these commercial connections, especially in advance of the NFL’s free agency period commencing on March 13, 2024, according to the lawsuit. The Cowboys and Prescott have been in discussions about a contract extension.

The attorneys for Victoria Shores claim that Dak is a liar and that she intends to file a separate criminal complaint against him.

Dak is a rapist and a liar, according to a statement released by Bethel Zehaie on March 12. When we first spoke with Levi, his attorney, he vehemently denied ever having met our client. About a week later, he reaffirmed his knowledge of Ms. Shores and that he was with her on the night she was sexually attacked when we spoke again. He never once denied this incident before the lawsuit was filed.

“We stand by the truth,” she continued. Playing hardball and victim-blaming, Dak and his solicitors are attempting to act like bullies. The truth does not frighten us. Victoria has experienced trauma and therapy as a result of the sexual attack. In my office, this young lady was crying uncontrollably. Dak must be made to answer for his actions. He and his legal team don’t scare us.

Shores’ attorneys stated, according to NBC DFW, that she intends to file a separate criminal case against Prescott.

The Cowboys have remained silent regarding the complaint. Additionally silent on the matter and whether or not detectives are examining the conflicting allegations made by Prescott and Shores are the police departments in Dallas and Collin County.

In a “show of support for legitimate survivors of sexual assault,” Prescott, the quarterback for the Cowboys, has promised to donate any money won in the lawsuit to the Joyful Heart Foundation, “whose vision is a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse or another like-minded organisation.” This is according to Prescott’s attorneys. The bogus allegations, according to his lawyers, “undermine the courage of actual sexual assault survivors everywhere, as well as the legitimacy of the horrific traumas they have endured.”

The Joyful Heart Foundation was founded, on its website, by Mariska Hargitay, star of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
