Cesare Casadei, a midfielder still adjusting to life in England, has expressed gratitude to three Chelsea teammates—former striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang—for helping him settle into the team.

The summer of 2022 saw the Italy Under-21 international arrive at Stamford Bridge. He had previously spent the majority of his youth career at Inter Milan. Before spending the second half of the season on loan at Reading, the 21-year-old spent six months getting settled at the team. Still, he was unable to prevent them from entering League One.

In the summer, the midfielder signed a new loan spell with Leicester City, where he joined fellow Italian Enzo Maresca. Before being picked up by Chelsea during the January transfer window, he scored three goals in twenty-five games for the Foxes as they won the Championship.

Though Mauricio Pochettino brought him back to Stamford Bridge to be a member of his first team, he has only played 16 minutes since then. Each of the three appearances was a late replacement.

During the international break, Casadei did get additional action as he started Italy’s U21 European qualifiers against both Latvia and Turkey, scoring in the former’s 2-0 victory. During the international break, the midfield player talked about his 18-month adjustment to life in England and gave credit to two Chelsea players who are currently with the team and one who left.

He told Italy’s official broadcasters, “I don’t feel this pressure; I always try to do my best better with the awareness of not having done anything yet.” Actually, I’m constantly looking to get better. I watch TV shows and movies in English just when I’m in London because I need to get better at it.
