Breaking: Crystal Palace Sack Roy Hodgson

Crystal Palace is free to “bring forward their plans to appoint a new manager” after Roy Hodgson resigned as manager.
Hodgson, 76, was reportedly going to be fired when he was “taken ill” during training on Thursday.
The Eagles are now 16th in the standings, five points above the relegation zone, and have lost 10 of their last 16 Premier League games.

Hodgson remarked, “This club is very special and means so much to me.”
Monday night, Palace takes on 18th-place Everton in the Premier League, led by assistants to Hodgson, Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington.
Oliver Glasner, a 49-year-old former Eintracht Frankfurt manager, is the clear favorite to succeed Hodgson permanently.

“I have fully enjoyed my time here across six seasons, as it has given me the chance to work with top-class players and staff doing what I love every day,” Hodgson said.
“However, I understand, given recent circumstances, it may be prudent at this time for the club to plan ahead, and therefore I have taken the decision to step aside so that the club can bring forward their plans for a new manager, as intended for this summer.”I have no doubt that the club will have a successful season finale, and I hope for more success in the upcoming weeks, months, and seasons.
