The Pittsburgh Steelers’ president, Art Rooney II, and head coach, Mike Tomlin, have tried their hardest to encourage Kenny Pickett despite the team’s involvement in trade speculations involving quarterbacks. Omar Khan, general manager of the Steelers, praised Pickett on February 29.

Although Khan acknowledged that the Steelers intend to increase Pickett’s competition this offseason, Khan had nothing but praise for the team’s single quarterback.

According to Joe Rutter of TribLive.com, Khan told the journalists, “I have full faith in Kenny [Pickett].” He has demonstrated some positive traits. There were undoubtedly some problems with the offense, and I’m looking forward to Arthur Smith’s influence on him. Arthur has a lot of optimism on Kenny. They have, I know, communicated.

“But we’ve always been a team that keeps three quarterbacks, so [Pickett] knows and we all know that there will be competition in the room. This year, I’d anticipate it to remain the same. We will thus consider all options.

In 2024, Pickett will be entering his third year with the Steelers. He completed 62% of his passes for an average of 6.4 yards per attempt in 2023. Pickett also had 6 touchdowns versus 4 interceptions.

He has posted a 14-10 record in 24 NFL starts during his career.
