Hungary Stewards call Verstappen due to a confrontation with Hamilton.

The world champion raced tenaciously, and his fifth-place result might be in jeopardy.

Stewards at the Hungarian Grand Prix have called Max Verstappen in relation to his late altercation with Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen, already irritated with Red Bull’s strategy decisions that had placed him fifth during the final pit stop, moved past Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari to take fourth position and started closing in on Hamilton’s Mercedes, which was in third.

Verstappen tried to go inside Turn 1 on Lap 63 of 70, but he overdone his braking, causing his rear-left to crash with Hamilton’s front-right.

In a collision with Carlos Sainz’s second Ferrari, Verstappen lost ground to Leclerc and finished fifth, while Hamilton secured his 200th career podium, trailing only Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

Verstappen, who was cleared in an investigation for running wide at Turn 1 on the first lap and leaping ahead of Norris, has been called to appear before the stewards at 17:50 local time for triggering the incident.

Verstappen escaped punishment by handing the position back to the British player.
