Before Lewis Hamilton joined the Ferrari team formally, he might have already experienced a setback.

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time Formula One world champion, is expected to make his much anticipated Ferrari debut next season, but the British driver could have a major setback before then.

Lewis Hamilton, the legendary driver of Formula 1, may already be experiencing his first setback as a Ferrari driver before he has even formally joined the team.

Furthermore, Lando Norris might stand to gain from the twist, so his loss can turn out to be a gain. This comes after F1 analyst Peter Windsor made a suggestion that Adrian Newey, who is expected to depart Red Bull at the end of the current campaign, would choose McLaren over Ferrari.

With rumors strongly linking Newey to Ferrari, the transfer would constitute a major upheaval in the Formula One world. Rumors that Mercedes ace Hamilton will be joined by Newey in Italy for his expected red-car debut led to the establishment of a new superpower in Maranello.

But Windsor thinks McLaren may be Newey’s next suitor for three good reasons. After Norris finished a creditable second behind Max Verstappen in Sunday’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, he offered his thoughts on his own YouTube account (via the Daily Express).

That was Lando Norris in a new light. Windsor praised Norris’s performance and said, “He’s incredibly competitive now, and he’s going to win more grands prix, absolutely no doubt about it. “His driving style. the manner in which McLaren is proceeding. Simply amazing.

Consider the scenario in which Adrian Newey joins McLaren. Over the weekend, many people predicted he would wind up at Ferrari, but he might finish up at McLaren. It all adds up: [Team Principal Zak Brown, [former colleague and engineer] Pete Prod [Peter Prodromou], and [former top Red Bull engineer] Rob Marshall are present.

“As a driving team, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are really good! Quite close to Adrian’s UK residence. Simple life: go race vintage cars with Zak too; it would be enjoyable.”

Hamilton will depart Mercedes for Ferrari at the end of 2024

That connection might be detrimental to Verstappen’s domination as well as Hamilton’s chances in Italy. After all, this season, Norris has emerged as his most formidable on-track rival, and McLaren is starting to put the pieces in place to advance to the next level and take on the existing F1 heavyweights.

It’s believed that Newey, who has been a major factor in Red Bull’s victories for the last ten years or more, would be the unseen weapon needed to launch a new contender that can contend for championships. Windsor evidently feels that McLaren has all the foundational pieces to become that contender.
