Louisville’s Scottie Scheffler, the defending Masters champion and a new father, arrived at the PGA Championship on Monday.

The PGA Championship favorite and current World No. 1 player, Scheffler, was absent from last week’s Wells Fargo Championship due to his and his wife Meredith’s impending baby. On May 8, a boy they called Bennett was born.

Early on Monday afternoon, Scheffler was observed at Valhalla’s practice facilities, where he was greeted with many congrats from other players. On Tuesday, Scheffler is anticipated to address the media.

Scheffler, who won his second Masters title and became the first player to win the Players Championship in back-to-back years, comes into the PGA Championship having won four of his previous five starts.

The two additional wins weren’t too bad either, considering that the PGA Tour’s marquee events are the Arnold Palmer Invitational and RBC Heritage. In his four career PGA Championship starts, the Texan has three top-10 results. He also finished two shots behind Brooks Koepka last year in the PGA.
