After finishing a record-tying run of five wins in as many LPGA starts with her big win in the Chevron Championship, Nelly Korda announced on social media on Monday that she has withdrawn from this week’s JM Eagle LA Championship at Wilshire Country Club in Southern California, citing exhaustion as her reason.

Korda wrote, “It was not an easy decision.” “I am definitely feeling exhausted after the incredible week at The Chevron grinding through the mental and physical challenges of four events in the last five weeks.” I think I should pay attention to my body and get some rest because there is still a lot of 22024 left to come before I’m prepared for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old Korda started her winning streak in late January at the LPGA Drive On Championship. After taking a break of almost two months, she came back to win three straight weeks—the Ford Championship, the Seri Pak Fir Hills Championship, and the T-Mobile Match Play. The LPGA took a week break during the Masters, and in the Chevron, Korda went 13 under to defeat Maja Stark by two strokes to win the second major of her career outside of Houston.

With her five victories in a row, Korda has matched Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam’s LPGA records. The Cognizant Founders Cup, which takes place in Clifton, New Jersey from May 19–22, is anticipated to present the next chance for a sixth consecutive win. “I look forward to seeing everyone again in New Jersey,” she wrote in her post.

Korda began her post with the words, “Wow! What a week it has been. I’m still in shock about the victory, but I’m genuinely touched by all of the support and love I’ve gotten. This past week’s Carlton Woods crowds and the messages from those observing from a distance were both amazing.
