Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love

Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love.

Jordan Love, a potential Hall of Fame quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, has a unique viewpoint on his connection with Aaron Rodgers.

Love took some time to interview Milwaukee Bucks player Thanasis Antetokounmpo on the Thanalysis Show. When Thanasis questioned Love about his connection with Rodgers, the quarterback for the Packers was all praise for his former colleague.

Love remarked, “Our relationship is fantastic.” “I was with him in the quarterback room, of course. Since you spend a lot of time in that room together every day for several hours, you learn to know everyone there. Though, as you pointed out, there will always be comparisons because of our positive relationship.

It appears that Love and Rodgers chose not to let Love’s draft position as Rodgers’ eventual replacement affect their relationship.

Aaron Rodgers Was Not Handled the Same Way

Though he didn’t receive the same care as the younger quarterback for the Packers, Rodgers was eager to serve as Love’s mentor.

In the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, the Packers selected Aaron Rodgers to be their eventual quarterback after Brett Favre. Although it was a comparable circumstance to what Love faced in 2020, Favre wasn’t very excited about the prospect of serving as a mentor.

At the time, Favre remarked, “My contract doesn’t say I have to get Aaron Rodgers ready to play.” “Hopefully, he will now watch me and learn something from it.”

Rather than treat Love the way Favre had treated him, Rodgers chose to mentor him.

Prior to this, Rodgers stated, “I’ve always had great relationships with my backups, and I always love helping those guys out in any way.” “I have more answers to their questions than they do.” I’ve embraced those relationships wholeheartedly, and Jordan will be no different.

Jordan Love Seems Like a Franchise Quarterback Already

Love quickly established himself as the Packers’ franchise quarterback going forward. It’s likely that having a mentor like Rodgers helped with that.

Love stepped improved his game to close out 2023 after experiencing some ups and downs early in the season. Having completed the season with 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and 4,159 yards passing, he ended second in the NFL in terms of passing touchdowns.

In the two postseason games for the squad, Love also gave it his all. He averaged an amazing 8.5 yards per pass attempt and concluded the postseason with a 108.6 passer rating, despite throwing two interceptions in the 49ers’ divisional round loss.

For Love, the future is yet bright. General manager Brian Gutekunst of the Packers disclosed that the organisation has initiated “preliminary discussions” over an anticipated significant contract extension.

Love will probably become one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL thanks to the Packers. With a youthful offensive line that includes Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks, as well as financial stability, Love may rapidly assist the Packers in being Super Bowl contenders again in 2024 and beyond.
