Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice.

According to the Dallas Morning News on March 31, Dallas police are looking for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in relation to a significant collision that happened in the Northeast Dallas neighborhood on Saturday night.

The Dallas Morning News reports that at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, an automobile “believed to be registered or leased” to Rice was involved in an accident on North Central Expressway. According to DMN, it’s unknown how much Rice is said to have been involved in the crash.

After setting all-time rookie marks for the Chiefs in receptions (79) and receiving touchdowns (7), Rice recently concluded his first year. With 938 receiving yards in the 2023 season, he was second on the team.

More details on the issue will be provided by Heavy on Chiefs as soon as they become available.

Brett Veach discussed Rashee Rice during the Scouting Combine.

During the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, general manager of the Chiefs Brett Veach was questioned by the media about whether the team thought they could rely on Rice from the start of his NFL career because of anything they observed in him during the scouting process.

That’s a valid point—we worked on him a lot. Our offense is a little bit unusual in that there is a lot of talk and language. On February 27, Veach said, “You’re always going to have a coaching staff that puts a lot of pressure on young players to come in and perform.” Our position is a little different in that we have a quarterback and coaching staff that put a lot of emphasis on the kids to perform well from the start. Bravo to Rashee (Rice), it merely illustrates his tenacity. Our coaches did an excellent job of pacing him even though it was really early in the game.

“I understand that in the beginning you see the glimpses and you want more, more, more, but these things take time. There was a plan, a vision,” Veach said. It takes some time, and sometimes they don’t happen when you want them to. With Rashee, I believe he was committed to working hard and making it happen this year. He performed an excellent job, and we are grateful for the effort he did with the playbook, with our coaches after practice, and off the field.

WR Room Upgraded by Chiefs This Offseason

As we approach the 2024 season, Kansas City’s wide receiver room is a better place than it was.

Veteran Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before being released by the team on February 28, is the largest loss from that room. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, who inked a $7 million one-year contract with the Chiefs that could potentially be worth $11 million in incentives, was this largest addition.

Right now, Rice, Brown, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson, Montrell Washington, Cornell Powell, Justyn Ross, Shi Smith, Anthony Miller, and Jacob Copeland make up the wide receiver room for the team.

A large-framed X-receiver who can be a physical presence both in and out of the red zone is still needed by the Chiefs. That kind of athlete is available to the two-time defending Super Bowl champions in the 2024 NFL Draft, which gets underway on April 25.
